HomeCareScorecard provides general information to help people research home care agencies. It is not medical, legal, financial or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for talking with your doctor, discharge planner, or the agency itself. In an emergency, call 911.

Public data, provided as-is

Agency information comes from public sources, including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). Those sources can contain errors or be out of date, and our processing (for example, extracting tables from PDF reports and matching records to agencies) can introduce errors. We work to be accurate but make no guarantee that any information is complete, current or correct. Always verify important details with the agency and the state.

Scores are opinions based on a published method

Scores and ranks are our calculation, using the method described on our methodology page. They are not a rating, endorsement or certification by any government agency, and a higher score does not guarantee better care for any individual. Absence of a score means there isn't enough public data — not that an agency is better or worse.

No endorsement, no pay-to-rank

Listing an agency is not an endorsement. Agencies cannot pay to change their score, rank or public records.

Tools

The review reply tool provides general templates only. It is not legal advice and does not guarantee HIPAA compliance; agencies are responsible for their own replies and should consult their privacy or compliance officer.
